A few words

It all started years ago with classical guitar. After practice, young St. Ali would fall into his imaginary world, sitting on the stairs of the house, playing different sounds, chords and melodies, slowly building the foundations of what he would eventually become...
And when you consider St. Ali's musical context, growing up with an Iranian mother singing at home, you understand that this beautiful heritage would naturally blend with all the rest in a unique way. Something untimely, beyond rules. Something about truth.
Then, obviously, electric guitar came into the picture. Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, Funkadelic, Defunkt, Van Halen, Pantera, Hiram Bullock, John Scofield, Pat Martino... all in the same big bag along with The Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, John Lennon, Alan Parsons Project, Billy Joel....
After building funk, rock and world projects - with fellow Iranian musicians in Tehran - or playing as a sideman with french "chanson française" songwriters, with rock, pop and funk bands, or writing music for theatre, dance and TV commercials, St. Ali feels the need to explore deeper his own path. Digging into the emotions he once felt when he was that kid playing on the stairs.
